Call it what you like: Cause Related Marketing, Charity, Philanthropy, Giving Back…

For us, caring is part of who we are and what motivates us to do better and to make it mean more. Whether it’s partnering with local organizations quarterly, uniting to deliver our annual fundraising event for pediatric cancer research (Chance for Life), or just giving someone the space and the confidence to openly share their feelings at the office, caring definitely sits at the top table for us.

While the ratio of men to women is fairly even at RedPeg, as of 2017, there were no employee resource groups set up to specifically encourage company diversity or open dialogue between female colleagues. In an effort to support our inclusion efforts, we created Women of RedPeg (WoR) to further internal and external mentorship of today and tomorrow’s female marketing leaders. Perhaps above all, though, we created WoR to provide a safe space to share everything from innovative ideas to conflict with colleagues.

In 2003, our CEO faced the difficult news that his two-year-old goddaughter was fighting an aggressive spinal cord tumor. This spurred him to bring on the magic by doing what he knew best: create a memorable experience. He created Chance for Life.

What started out as an intimate family fundraising event with 20 friends around a poker table, has since transformed into an annual District-wide celebration. In March at the MGM National Harbor, we created an interactive evening for 2,000 guests that provided an environment to celebrate the progress in cancer research and informed guests on how they can make an impact. In 2018, this part-charity, part-concert, part-gastronomic experience raised over $1.5MM for pediatric cancer research, and to-date, over $4.3MM.
