Allen Brooks

SVP, Account Services

A career in international sport, event marketing and team leadership was born out of the pursuit of passions and interests, a natural extension from competitive experiences on the track and court. As the sometimes-unintended path unfolded, I realized other passions, namely, supporting the transformation of individuals and organizations. My career highlights and success as an organizational leader have all fundamentally involved elevating individual and team performance to achieve what was previously met with skepticism. I believe there is great power derived from a unified vision built on core values.

The start of my career involved various leadership positions within Olympic Games Organizing Committees. I was entrusted with leading the operational planning and delivery for basketball in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics and Ice Hockey for the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics. This involved overseeing and coordinating numerous agencies, vendors, suppliers and thousands of volunteers across 40+ departments in order to deliver multiple weeks of competition.

My Olympic journey transitioned to the property side with a role in the International Olympic Committee serving as the in-country liaison to the Olympic Organizing Committees in Athens, Greece and Vancouver, British Columbia. The main responsibilities centered around supporting the international and domestic Olympic Marketing partners, navigating their contractual rights, developing creative operational solutions and collaboratively problem solving with a wide variety of stakeholders.

The next opportunities and challenges involved executive leadership roles for two international marketing agencies. Firstly, as Vice President of Olympic Marketing for SportsMark Management Group, where I created and managed their Vancouver, British Columbia office, overseeing business development and strategic marketing consultation for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games and supported client projects in Torino, Italy (2006), Beijing, China (2008) and London, England (2012). Subsequently, I was Vice President, International Client Management with GMR Marketing, supporting the development of strategic planning for Proctor & Gamble’s first IOC Sponsorship Program.

My broad-based sports marketing experience was rounded out to include brand work during my time at GoPro, where, as the Director of Global Events, I led an international team of 25+ in the yearly delivery of 350+ consumer events and 45 trade shows, activating GoPro’s international sponsorships and distributorships while sharing their evolving brand story.

My approach to leadership is rooted in the belief that success ultimately distills down to people; I seek innovative approaches and solutions that are people focused. My success as an executive and organization leader has come from a curious mind, a compassionate heart and a commitment to seeing people evolve and achieve.

In addition to the countless hours of schooling received in global streets and boardrooms, my formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Appalachian State University and a Master of Arts from The Ohio State University.
